  • Luke Campbell - How Far Will He Go?

Glen McCrory keeps comparing him to Oscar De la Hoya.

    STOP IT!!!

Luke might be a decent fighter but that's stretching things a hell of a lot.

I've seen his three fights & he looks decent but I'm still not even convinced European class, let alone World.

Time will shape my view of the lad but I really hope he does well.

It's the age old problem of British fighters fighting tomatoes that don't test them (although the opponent was pretty tough tonight). We won't know for a while if he is disguising a chandelier as a chin.

            I don't think it is.

Luke Campbell is probably the best amateur that's ever come out of Britain, at least in the last 20 years I'd say. He's got that humble, nice guy charm and good looks - exactly like ODLH.

He's extremely talented imo and will win a world title at some stage. Good idea moving up in weight as well. Not saying he'll go on to do what DLH did obviously that would be a stretch, but I can see certain similarities.

He's a tall rangy southpaw with good speed and accuracy (so far) so i think he will at least be an awkward person to fight up to world level. Whether he can make the step to genuine world class and beyond im not completely sure.

Time will tell i suppose. He seems to be a hard worker and he's with the best placed promoter in the country so that bodes well!

We know he doesn't from his amateur career. This guy is an excellent fighter and he can take a punch.

I think it's a fair comparison. They both won gold medals, started in the same weight class (I believe), good looks, charm etc. I think it's a good comparison.

What I would agree is cringe worthy is them trying to build him up to something he's not. I hate when people do that..

                    case in point:

                    "The future people's world champion".

                    Wtf does that even mean?
