  • Eddie's Olympians Vs. Frank's Olympians

Frank Warren signed his three highly rated 'Olympians' (quote marks are because Gavin never even competed in the end) four years ago now. Obviously they still have a way to go in their careers but I think its safe to say after initial hype Degale, Gavin and B.J.Saunders havent exactly set the boxing world alight. Hopefully they can make a decent stab at world level, but i doubt a great career awaits any of them.

Eddie Hearn is going down a similar root after last years Olympics with his signings Luke Campbell, Thomas Stalker and now Anthony Joshua.

Who do you think has got the better deal in terms of talent and ability to cross over to the pro game?

(not financially becuase obviously the home olympic boys are already leagues ahead in terms of celebrity)

Eddie Hearn by a country mile. If he'd have snapped up Ogogo which he should have IMO it would've been a wipeout. Campbell IMO was the best of the lot, the most marketable are Joshua and Ogogo. I fear Tom Stalker is too old to make a serious challenge outside of the domestic level unfortunately.

ogogo is marketable no doubt, but he's all hype. he'll be exposed if he hasn't already

......I think that Gavin and Saunders may well come right for Warren (financially at least) and could surprise a few people. Somewhat ironically, the two guys he signed who did not medal in Beijing are proving to the the most reliable/credible long-term bets.

            I don't agree at all.

Ogogo is one of the best amateurs Britain has produced in decades. Competed and won on every level from youth to senior. I don't see why he's hype.

But that remains to be seen.

I don't believe Ogogo will ever get to world level, he has competed at those levels you metioned granted but take his Olympic performance when the guy he lost to seemed leagues above him. Ogogo is good to market but is limited talentwise and will only go so far
