Workng in the boxing "industry"

I didn't really know which forum to post this in but here seems as good as any place.

I am seriously looking into trying to get work in the boxing world, working for a promoter or the like but haven't a clue where to start. I don't want to blindly send my cv off for it to be binned or filed and forgotten.

I currently work in logistics and have done for 4.5 years since completing university and a related masters degree, but I've just never had the love for the industry; so I am trying to get into a line of work I know I'll have enthusiasm and a passion for and will be more than just a means to pay the bills

Possible long shot but if anyone working in the industry or associated lines of work can offer any pointers on this it would be very much welcomed and appreciated

If you were in the states I would say get involved in amateur boxing through a nonprofit(not sure if these are the same in europe) its a great way to help kids and be a Part of the development of the sport in a way. Also, if there is a small city with not much for kids to do and good parents then these places are ideal for starting a gym

thanks for the thoughts chaps... it's a slow process with holding down a full time job to pay the bills etc but got some decent advice this month that I will be putting into practice

Helping out with local clubs and shows could be a great starting point to get some exprience and do something really worthwhile at the same time.. great suggestion, thanks
