Just watched the fight. I wanted Mathews to win but I have to say that stoppage was dire. I'm sick of seeing this kind of thing week-in, week-out. It's really hurting British boxing IMO.
Made up for Matthews as he is a smashing bloke, but the stoppage was an absolute shocker. I think the ref thought it was an ABA final and not a British title fight.
