At this point its only a mere thought. Haye is just like Mayweather, he's going to find every excuse available to prevent the fight from materializing. For the record, I hope he was joking when he said he was crossing over to MMA.

wow; comparing him to Floyd; really?

According to Dan Rafael Vitali are in talk with Haye's people. Part of me wants the fight to happen because I'd like to see Vitali KO Haye.

But I do think it would be unfair that Haye gets another massive pay-day when he's done nothing to earn it.

Haye's own trainer doesn't think he can beat Vitali.

I still think they should make the fight, however. Good challenge for Vitali and a fight people would be interested in.

Thank God that Haye is at least contemplating a comeback, he is the most exciting heavyweight and the division needs him in the worst way possible at this point..

I hope Haye takes the bait, I want him laid out like a schmuck even it takes a £10m pay check to see it.

Utterly pointless. It was never going to happen even before Haye announced his retirement. Just because a fight is mooted, there would still be massive differences of opinion between both camps that would make a deal a long way off. Haye will still claim he is the promotional draw in this fight, despite being comprehensively beat by Wladamir. He does have a point, he got America interested in the bout and had many casual fans tuning in to watch it. Adam Booth doesn't support the fight, so why would Haye possibly go ahead with such a huge bout without the unanimous backing of his manager and trainer?! Saying that Haye would take this fight for the money doesn't really hold any substance for me, the guy has been involved in the sport for a long time going way back to his ameteur days. He went into the backyard of Cruiserweight and Heavyweight champions to achieve the goals that he wanted to achieve in the boxing ring. He definitely had the antics and talk to grab the limelight that got fight fans intrigued, and a big dose of arrogance, but there is a sizeable difference between that and being a money grabber.

I'm pretty sure Haye plans on remaining retired. I read it in an article where he speculated on future fights involving Price, Fury, and the Klitschkos.

I think it would be a gamble for Vitali to take this fight. I noticed in recent fights that his speed isn't what it used to be. He is 40, after all.

That might make the fight more even and interesting though.

Yeah, I think the talk about Price and Fury firms things up. Not the mention Haye has brought out an autobiography, I think a fight against Vitali would have been a pretty key element of it! Those who say Vitali would KO Haye is a bit of an oversight in my view. Wladamir couldn't land often enough on Haye despite dictating the tempo for the whole fight, Haye had the speed of reflex. Why would it be any different against Vitali, he certainly isn't any faster than Wladamir. The onus would be on Haye to get more shots off and take a few more risks to get inside.
