Kevin Mitchell is the best of the bunch, he's an excellent boxer and has now got some good experience behind him. Cleverly isn't far behind, not as good a boxer but he's a great puncher, he's goina have a great chance at world titles because of how weak his division is compared to the others.

I'm not appreciating DeGale, he's getting too ****y for someone who's only had a few fights against bums, his amateur record counts for nothing now, he needs to learn that.

It was great to see all the new generation of British boxers on the same card last week, makes a difference to the usual crap we have to put up with over here.

Mitchell,Cleverly and Brook are there or thereabouts, although I would like to see Brook get a move on. I think both Cleverly and Mitchell are good enough to win a world title,Mitchell at the moment and Cleverly in a few fights time. I like the look of groves although I'm not convinced about his defence just yet. Britain does have some good fighters coming through, future looks good.

I've been saying it for a while now: IMO, Groves is the best British prospect I've seen since Hamed.

He's a genuine boxer-puncher with all the shots (and some extra besides), who is equally at home going to the head or the body. Even at this tender age he plants his feet and loads up with either hand. After he goes through his final growth phase (somewhere in the next eighteen months) and fills out completely I expect he'll turn into a murderous puncher. He's got that fluid punching action which adds a vicious whip to his shots.

The kid has a first class attitude. He genuinely wants to be the best and with Hayemaker (and Adam Booth especially) he's got a mentor who'll keep his feet on the ground whilst fast-tracking him to opponents who're likely to give him a good test.

The Makhankov fight was just what George needed. A guy who you could have shot with an artillery piece and wouldn't have gone down. It's in fights such as those that you learn about your limitations. George took a few for his troubles and his chin held up well. No Khan-like questions raised there.

The "proposed" fight between DeGale and Groves (which Warren will never authorise) has me wondering where both fighters will be with 20 bouts behind them. All being well, I expect Groves will be firmly established at international level - just outside top-10 at his weight. Where DeGale will be is anyone's guess. If Warren plays to form it could be thirty fights before he gets a shot at the best fighters. It's a pity really because in his last fight - despite my skepticism - DeGale impressed me. He's filled out nicely and looks to have gained some extra power to add to his slick boxing skills.

Going back to Groves, my only worry is his hands. He seems free of such injuries at the moment, but his wicked punching style could well place intolerable stresses on them.

Of the rest - I don't know where to start. I can't remember a time when British boxing has been able to boast such an array of talent. Kell Brook, Frankie Gavin, Mitchell et al - any of them could make the big time.

Never seen Groves fight, i'll check him out. Cleverly is still in uni, he thinks he's got another 50% in him when he finishes.

I like Lindsay but he needs to be a LOT more active, he's very inexperienced for a British champion. He needs to fight Simpson ASAP and then move to Euro level as that'll be the domestic scene clearerd up (if he wins, its a tough fight). He's with Hayemaker i think so get fecked over when Setanta went bust with getting dates.

McCloskey looked good in his Euro tittle win but i dont think he has what it takes to move up to world level, especially in a division as loaded as 140. Although he could end up getting a shot at Amir Khan (he's not heavy handed). Again, he needs to fight more often too.

Brook has impressed me the most.

Mitchell and Cleverley are building their resumes in the right way though and I wouldn't be surprised to see them pick up world titles within the next 2 years.

Groves and DeGale both look very good, and I think the latter has received far too much criticism.

None of the heavyweight prospects impress me too much. I don't see Fury, Chisora or Dallas reaching world level. Sexton and Rogan are good fighters and hopefully both carry on fighting good opposition, even if it means taking fights that they'd probably lose. Rogan-Povetkin is a fight I'd like to see, for example.

No mention of Darren Barker? Surprised if i'm honest. I think he has more of a chance at world level then the likes of Mitchell, Macklin and Cleverley IMO.
