The greatest fight I ever saw was Jack Johnson vs Stanley Ketchel. A horrible mismatch of weight and skill. Ketchel was the middleweight champion who only looked like he weighed 150lbs. Back in those days, boxing was still illegal in most states so there was no way to regulate the weight classes. Johnson could have easily knocked him out anytime but he loved to inflict punishment, with a smile no doubt. Late in the fight, a bloody-faced Ketchel jumped and socked Jack so hard, Jack spun around before hitting the canvas. Jack was crawling on the mat trying to get up. He barely made the count, getting up at 9. Jack then hit Ketchel so hard, they both hit the floor. Jack put his whole body weight in the punch while Ketchel was running forward. He hit Ketchel so hard, his front teeth were embedded in Jack's glove. Ketchel was knocked out for 10 minutes. If Ketchel wasnt so anxious to finish Johnson off after the knockdown, he could have won. He should have never ran toward Jack with his guard down
