  • paul williams vs sugar ray leonard

If hearns outboxed leonard and p williams is a better boxer than hearns with similiar power and a better chin, can he beat sugar ray? gamboa would ko margarito more than likely. sugar ray is fast but williams has a bigger reach and could break both of his eye sockets instead of just one.

You have to learn to understand boxing, and why certain styles are employed versus certain fighters. Leonard game plan vs Hearns was to stay away early and not get caught with anything big, as hearns had probably the best right hand in boxing history at welter. Plus Hearns had a very good jab, and left hook. Paul Williams cant even dream of having the power that Hearns had. They fight completley different styles. If you think Quintana was able to time him in their first fight, what do you think Leoanrd would be able to do.

Hearns was considered having a good chin too, until he fought Leonard. So people always look different until they face either a great fighter or get caught.

As for Hearns outboxing Leonard, again it was leoanrd strategy to stay away, which made it virtually impossible to get inside of Hearns to land punches fighting a boxing strategy. Once Leonard got inside of Hearns each and every round that they had meaning ful exchanges Hearns was hurt seriously. Rounds 6.7.8,13,14, Now you ask yourself would leonard give Paul Williams that same kind of respect. NO. Paul Williams is not the ko artist Hearns was. Leonard would come out right after Paul Williams. And judging how easy Quintana had outboxing Williams the first time, and countering him, I believe leonard has a easy day with Wllams, if he first goes to the body.

As for the eyes. another false media hyped story that you should research before typing. Leonard eye was damaged in the training leading up to the Hearns fight, by catching a elbow. It was lready damaged, Hearns, simply brought the swelling out again.

Before we even think that Paul williams can beat a leoanrd, duran Hearns, or hagler, how about he convingly beat one very good to great fighter, and not limp to the finish line barely winning like he did vs Margerito.

WTF? Leonard would stop Williams, Hearns is a better boxer than Williams, hits 100x harder and was faster. Leonard would toy with him and stop him

Even though it's a joke thread, for the record.....

Leonard would give Williams a bigger lesson in boxing fundamentals than Quintana did.
