To even be considered for the position of TBE, it takes stellar competition. It does not matter why you did not fight them. If you didn't, you don't get the credit. Period.

His china mitts cannot keep Pryor off him, since it was all he could do to squeak by Castillo and Maidana, who were not near the AT status of Pryor.
How many all-time greats in their prime did Pryor beat?

I would guess zero, since Arguello was past prime? Am I right?

Correct. And fighting outside his best weight.

Or you could guess 1. If you think Arguello was still prime for some reason.

I can't hardly think of any boxer who is more hated as history rolls on. The truth about May is people will respect him just like they find reasons to respect every historical fighter.

I can't even talk **** about Luther McCarty without someone telling me he was pretty good actually.

In Mayweather's case boxing historians won't struggle to find reasons to respect him.

He had little trouble beating Pacquiao, Canelo, and Juan Manuel Marquez. His quality is obvious.

See? We just had a civil discussion. Now if we can do that in the other thread. I do not mean to express an agenda against anyone nor any ill will.

                  Yeah.

You are basically saying that Floyd, Dempsey, Locche and Pryor are not too special though.

I don't know that I can agree with that.

If talking about resumes, apparently not from what I'm reading here on the forum. If talking about skills and success, then they are.

A boxer can never receive credit for mountains he did not climb, even though everyone is certain he could have easily climbed them.

I am certain Robinson could have beaten almost every light heavyweight in the world in his own best era, but that does not mean he should receive any credit for my guess.

Likewise, Mayweather may have been able to beat his group of undersized geezers, even had they been in their respective primes, but he cannot get credit for it, no matter how much we suspect he could have overcome them. The geezers of Tiny Town vs Lil' Floyd is what we got. We have to assess him versus those geezers, not on their prime counterparts.

By buggery, one would think that would be outstandingly clear.
