- -Grew up on the Texas Gulf coast swimming and surfing was especially good when a hurricane would hit New Orleans.

Moved here for college where I swam in some of the purest limestone filtered waters in the world. Used to log 1500- 2500 meter workouts at our new world class swim center, one day next to the soviet team star swimmer before they broke up as their coach stalked the walkway between us glaring at me. I seriously considered timing their star before he passed me to kick out under the walkway to yank him down an ankle that'd start a fight and international incident.

Would've been loads of fun but thankfully my better judgement took over.

Anyway, I can no longer swim in such a godsaken befouled town as international developers have destroyed everything beautiful and pastoral in the worst environmental degradation economic degradation I've ever witnessed.

Can't even do my long training sessions starting with my heavy bag because of it, so now I try to run down free range shelter saved pitbulls that want a go at me, but they figure out their odds and don't wanna play to turn tail...Grrr!

I'm guessing the BP spill must have changed the landscape of the Gulf Coast for the next 100 years or more. Have you noticed a big change since the spill?

- -Today's Gulf is stewing in fecal coliform and garbage, so relative to the already fraudulent development that saw Houston near wiped clean, BP damage only piles on the outrage.

If I didn't make my point before, I no longer swim or eat the freshest seafood in the world caught that day that would disgust me now.
