Having all those kids with multiple mothers probably had something to do with that too.

      I think 11 with 8 women.

Wow, damn. Yeah, that's a lot of child support owed. I guess that's why someone here gave him the nickname The Bastard Maker.

All championship bouts should be 15 rounds. The championship distance.

These days fighters barely have the stamina for 10

Which is why they'll probably reduce fights to 10 rounds eventually. Imagine if any of those Gatti-Ward fights were more than 10? One of them would've probably been stopped with the way those two were wailing on each other. Then the fans would've probably rioted.

Ramos - Moore, not Griffith - Paret.

The Paret-Griffith tragedy may have been the beginning of the end of turn buckles. Some say Paret was wedged into the corner and couldn't fall. Today the corner padding is designed so a hurt fighter will slide to the floor (besides protecting the fighter's back and head.)

I always figured a fighter wants to fight as few rounds as possible (for the same money).

It was Dempsey, who held a lot of clout who reduced the first Tunney fight down to just ten rounds. But then for the rematch Dempsey (seeming to realize his mistake) tried to get (now champion) Tunney to commit to 15 rounds, but Tunney said no thanks.

P.S. Dempsey did admit that if the first fight had been longer he might not have made it to the end, but he felt much better prepared the second time around.

Thats probably why they only wanted them for 10.
