I think everyones ATG list is childish & silly, but respect for naming a cat I'd never heard of, Art Hafey. Looking at his boxrec I'd argue he's probably not worthy of being top 25 ATG, but sh^t man who gives a f#ck, if you think he's #25 he's #25.

what i find strange is how resumes are taken into account (if at all).
some people feel, according to the fighter/s they worship, ''resumes are meaningless. a guy fights whos available''.....
....only to turn around and criticize OTHER GUYS for having a piss poor resume. ''that guy only fought a few solid names.''
some people will give a shot name more credit than it deserves (rocky over louis, pac over slh...)
if not by resume, ie, WHO A GUY FOUGHT AND BEAT, how are we to legitimately and without bias, rank fighters ?
Actually a common myth, nobody believed the Earth was flat. They just believed that there was no Western Hemisphere, I.e. The America's.
Thousands of dollars university education comin' at you homie.
Well... actually its not so cut and dry. The Greeks knew the Earth was spherical. They were considered, after the 1700's to be the start of Western knowledge... prior to that time they were characterized like the Egyptians were later characterized...as very passionate people who lived by their emotions and temper... Also we had the middle ages where knowledge was on hold. There were various beliefs about the Earth...Sailors still use Ptolemy astronomy to navigate the stars, and some sailors were superstitious about the end of the Earth. Keep in mind that until Newton's theories most sailors did not even know how water stayed on the Earth.
The point about the flat earth theory is that any idea taken unexamined, even based on empirical data can lead to crazy conclusions. In point of fact the earth is not even a perfect sphere, but rather a basically spherical shape that constantly changes according to forces acting upon it. its crazy to think, for example, that every step you are taking right now, has a reaction from the Earth...every action having a reaction... It also cannot be empirically validated.

yeah Ive seen some guys here do a very good job, really put some thought into it. I can't. Just like trivia...I respect guys like Bundana and Humean because I just don't have a nose for it. I enjoy watching the people good with it do their thing!
lists always by their nature will neglect some great fighters.
thats my problem with them. I mean how do you really tell who was better...Tunney or Spinks? I like the way Ray Corso just says "Sugar Ray Robinson was the best" and leaves it at that! He will often say "here are some great ______," never saying..."These are the best______." Makes more sense to me.
