That's a more sensible statement! And a lot closer to the truth than anything the KoolAid drinker has yet to say

And the point is well taken. I actually ENJOY watching Tyson fights. I can think of a few that rival him for excitement but not many. My larger point, though, is that too many confuse exciting with greatness when they're really apples and oranges.

Still i do think Tyson is a ATG. I think becomming the youngest ever heavyweight champion, the first undisputed (with all different sanctions) champion and Lineal Champ. As well as the two time champ, and being extremly dominant in his time. That is what IMO makes him a ATG, not to mention his physical attributes.

Yeah, I'm kind of on the fence there as to whether to rate him an ATG or a near-great. I'm the same way about Lennox Lewis. Sometimes I slip one or the other onto my ATG list then slip them back onto my near-great list. I can say that when I have them at near-great status they are pretty much at the top of the list. I know this is something you and go back and forth on. It's funny, you're a Tyson fan who can argue a point in a reasonable manner and if we dissagree over some point it's no big deal. That's why you AREN'T a nuthugger like goofball over there. It's also the biggest reason I love trading posts with you!

                • Yeh Lewis is a hard one for me, although he is my statistical list (that u helped with) he is higher on my personal list (and louis is top) but thats based alot on him being extremley difficult to beart one on one, i cant explain how i do my personal list its just what feels right, but when a fighter is great he will be talked about for years to come, im not sure this would be the case with lewis. The thing is some tyson fans cant allow him to lose any battle or any arguement. I can garuntee i know as much(probably more) than the majority of tyson fans. But you have to accept certain facts, like tyson v foreman wouldnt be a great match up. And his not the #1 heavyweight of all time.
Also on the top 10 heavies, we need to get that concensus, mayb try a new one since hawkins aint on much!

I go back and forth on who was better Tyson or Lewis. Head to head though I think Lewis would pose many of the same problems to Tyson that a young Foreman would have. The only thing that really gives me pause about Lewis is his chin: That's primarily why I've had a hard time time moving Lewis into the ATG bracket.

Let me guess, you have "Two Ton" Tony Galento above Lewis.
