  • Book and photograph signed by Laszlo Papp

    Hi!

I am trying to estimate the value of a book ("Die Laszlo Papp Story") and a photograph - both are signed by Laszlo Papp.

The book is german and from the year 1965.

Could anyone estimate the value of this or could tell who or where I could ask about the value?

I can make pictures of both if anyone is interested to see them.

    Thanks!

signed books can be worth thousands of dollars, I'd say to a collector of anything related to boxing it could be worth $1000 -2000 dollars if in good condition and the signature is genuine. Laszlo papp was a great champion, I think he won a gold medal in the Olympics 3 times, if only he'd been allowed to turn pro

He did turn pro and retired undefeated prior to getting a shot at a world title.

As for valuation I have no idea and could be well off but I wouldn't of thought it would of been worth much really. Possibly $50-$100 or so to the right person.

Yeah it is quite awesome I probably won't sell it because of that, but just wanted to know how much it would be worth.

The book seems to be in good condition (not very good/great though) and the signature looks to be real. Yeah, he was a great champion, bu not that famous it seems. The book states that he had 312 fights from which he won 301, lost 5 and 6 ended in a draw :O What a monster! 1000-2000$ would be big!

I see. Well I have to make more research about the estimate then.

                LOOOOL Lazslo Papp!

                1k-2k? No way.

Nobody is going to give you more than a few hundred bucks for it, and that's IF you're lucky to find somebody who is that hardcore of a boxing historian willing to pay for Lazslo Papp...

There's just not going to be a big market, even in the boxing community, for a signed Laszlo Papp book...

Just hold on to it - you won't get the real value out of it - at least not in a monetary sense.

Yeah I was just curious about the value. Don't need the money now anyway, so I am gonna hold onto it. Thanks for the input!
