But he makes a point of shaking my hand and asking me to please come back again for next class...next three classes the same thing, each time he teaches me another technique and so now I have about 3 techniques and have toughened up a bit. Each time it is incredibly difficult not to panick and use technique but it helps me a bit.
So a few of the advanced students come by and its sparring night. I thought I had toughened up and i get hit with a good shot to the nose and the claret is flowing...I felt like I wanted to run away haha, even though we keep going Its like this feeling of...if my spirit could abandon the body somehow... sheesh!
I think the point is its no joke when you start to appreciate how valuable technique is, and how if you stick with it it can help you. Any fighter who has developed technique under those conditions has my respect. And its a very valuable perspective, along with the others. They compliment each other to a degree.
