i THINK IF YOU ARE INTO BOXING THEN IT WAS A GOOD FIGHT TO WATCH, NOWHERE NEAR THE HYPE BUT WHEN IS ANY BIG FIGHT UP TO THE HYPE?? FOR THE BOXING PURIST IT WAS GOOD, NOT SO MUCH FOR THE CASUAL,IT WOULD BE HARD PRESSED TO GET A CASUAL TO PAY FOR A FIGHT FOR QUIET AWHILE I WOULD SAY. AND I UNDERSTAND THAT SEEN AS THEY JUST WANNA SEE A TOE TO TOE WAR, BUT WE ALL KNEW THAT WAS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. THE UNDER-CARD DONE THE NIGHT NO FAVORS VERY POOR AND THE "RICH" CROWD DIDNT ARRIVE TILL THE MAIN EVENT SO THEIR WAS NO REAL ATMOSPHERE THEIR UNTIL THEN. BOXING WILL BE HURT BY THIS AS IN THE CASUAL IS NOT GOING TO BUY A FIGHT ON PPV. BUT THEN AGAIN WHIT HAYMON AND THE PBC THEIR GETTING GOOD VIEWS IT MIGHT ENTICE THE CASUALS BACK IF THEY SEE A FEW WARS AND GOOD FIGHTS ON FREE TV. BUT IT WILL TAKE AWHILE I WOULD SAY. IT WILL JUST BE THE NORMAL BOXING FANS MAYBE A FEW MORE THAT WILL BUY THE BIG FIGHTS AFTER THIS WEEKEND IMO.

        I am "in to" boxing.
        I thought the fight stank.

Can you turn your CAPS LOCK off, please?

Out with the old (Floyd, Wlad, Manny, Cotto, Hopkins) in with the new (GGG, Koval, Thurman, Rigo, Spence, even Khan)
Anyone who will come to fight amnd fight HARD for 12 rounds!
These so called chjampions are set for life and thats the way they fight, cautiously and callculating and it makes for a boring event.
Boxing is Chess with Consequences but these fellows have eliminated the consequence. They made threir millions now get them out and bring in the new crew!!!

Im excited to see how the next era turns out. The new guard need to realise that the chances of them landing the Mayweather/ Pacquiao/ Klitschko/ Cotto/ Froch lottery are very slim, its time to create their own history.

Boxing might just take a year or two to establish new stars (Canelo is already there), but it will be fine. As poor as i thought the May vs Pac fight (+ 5 year saga) was if nothing else it showed businesses everywhere that boxing can make a lot of people a tonne of cash. Comparable (if not as consistent) to Soccer, NFL, NBA etc.

I think the HW's are due some excitement in the post Klitshcko era. Hopefully some of these young guys coming through can really dedicate themselves and fight each other regularly.

Rigo wont be around 2much longer i say, cant class him as "new" era..and cant see khan really carrying on at top level if he losses another one or two,a KO for him now could quite possibly ruin him IMO GGG kovalav lomanchenko brook thurman fury wilder frampton canelo their is a good few ready to seize their chances and carry things on, and nearly all that i mentioned are good offensive fighters

It really was an appalling advertisement for the sport. Basically, one fighter had knowingly waited for the other's skills to diminish to a fraction of their former glory and then pounced.

I know Manny is blaming an injury. But injury aside - he LOOKED a SHOT FIGHTER from the first minute. Not that Mayweather looked all that great either.

As for the undercard - ABYSMAL. No wonder so many people were booing in the crowd.

I can't remember feeling this depressed after a big fight as I do now. Boxing needs to take a long, hard look at itself and make changes. If not - I really do fear for its future as the sport I knew and loved growing up.
Hell yeah. It also needs a union and some kind of commissioner like team sports have. Enough of these corrupt governing bodies.

I agree. You could also add James Kirkland to the new, as he comes to fight every time he enters the ring and is a newer guy to the sport in the public eye as well, even had some fight of the year candidates.

Yeah maybe Wilder can be that guy in the heavyweight division, a little early to tell now. Wlad should just fight Wilder, Fury and maybe Briggs and then call it a career and let someone else be the top heavyweight.
