Just checked Ewart Potgieter, I had him at 7 foot, but boxrec list him as 7' 2" ...

i actually knew a guy who seen Ewart fight in London in the mid 50s, he was not up to much by his reckoning.

Don't know great amount of details, but Potgieter went to the UK "on tour" and retired mid-way through it claiming he was no good at the sport.

Then when he changed his mind and tried to come back he had medical issues and struggled to get a license.

correct guys.. iron mike and Mary ann was the names Dempsey used. Hence Iron`Mike Tyson with the wall haircut, no robe, no socks, black shorts.
