If Kovalev can get the distance and stay focused, it's hard to believe he would lose to a 50 y/o man. But Hopkins seems to be a freak and if he can't beat him he'll at least make the Russian look bad. So I'll pick Kovakev, but I wouldn't have the guts to bet on him here.

Don't know yet, but there's a good chance Bernard will end his career the way he did Calzaghe, Pavlik and maybe Dawson's. Kovalev's never been past 8 rounds and the one time he went that far, he sc****d by with a SD. If Hopkins can take him 12, maybe drop him once or twice late, I like his chances.

So if he beats Kovalev and can then beat Stevenson, why not defend the title at least once and then retire, instead of retiring right after winning the title?

Hopkins ended a 36 year olds, 45 fight, 15 year, unbeaten, 2 division lineal champions career in a fight he lost vs a guy Calzaghe said was going to be his last second fight?

          Could have fooled me.

I don't know. It's just impossible to know when Hopkins time will be up, and it has to come up eventually. No one can just keep on going forever, and at 50 he has to drop off soon.

Kovalev would get embarrassed vs a prime Hopkins so I don't know about now. I think its a risky fight for Kov, but worth taking because Hopkins has shown signs of decline in recent years, but enough for him to win?

It's always a fascinating thing coming up to a Hop fight now because you just don't know.

Age will be a factor. I think Kovalev knocks him out, too young and too strong.
