After he loss I feel like he came to the conclusion without his original trainer he was done.
People always say this but I don't see the Douglass loss doing this to Tyson at all. He looked far better after Douglass up untill he went to prison. It was only after that long layoff that he was a completely different fighter.

I sometimes wonder if Gerald McClellan beat Nigel Benn, how much that would have changed things at middle/smw. Would we have got G-man vs RJJ?

[Well if Tunney never lost to Greb he would have retired undefeated in 70+ pro bouts..
That would be a cause for discussion..But Greb was a dirty fighter maybe even dirtier then Holyfield..George Foreman said Evander was dirtiest fighter he ever fought..Tyson when he bit Holyfield cause he was getting frustrated cause Mills Lane the ref..A Holyfield friend who had no business refereeing that bout..Thats Mikes biggest downfall was he trusted the wrong people to look out for him..The attorney who put him on the stand during his trial..You don't put your client on the stand..I mean The shrink that put Tyson on lithium never talked to Mike only to his wife and mother inlaw about Tyson's issues..If Cus had
lived 10-15 more years Tyson's career and life would had to have been different...

Well that went from promising to rambling rather quickly.

Yeah that did go to rambling ..sorry about that..Back to Tunney if he had retired undefeated he would have had most his fights against non-heavyweights....Also that first Jeffries Corbet fight where Corbett was winning by a big margin until the 23rd round..He would have been first heavy to regain the title..But it wasn't until Patterson that happened

If McClellan had been healthy, absolutely. RJJ wouldn't have the excuse of G-man being a foreigner. But if he had won that fight he probably would have been forced to retire anyway, not even Don King could have corrupted his way through the medical exams. Unless McClellan knocked stopped Benn within seconds after that first knockdown through the ropes, he would have been fresh enough to be cleared for another fight and then I think he would have went through the same horrible thing in a fight against Jones but to a lesser extent and he'd probably be in much better health than he is today, since RJJ isn't a brutal damage dealer like Benn or even 1/10th as dirty. Interesting question though.

Well if that was the case and Holmes retired 50 and 0 Wanting to be the only fighter to break Marchiano's record...He would probably have gold plated his jockstrap
