I think moore gets extra credit by people because he hit big later in his career, much like hopkins, but if you look at the totality of the career, i dont think it comes anywhere near guys in the top 10..
Moore was basically a james toney caliber fighter that could give anyone trouble, but most of the time when matched vs another great fighter he lost..

Moore beat a lot of good fighters, great fighters. Glen Johnson barely beat any.
Which guys doesn't he warrant do you think?
I mean you have Pep above him. How does he rank above Moore? I don't get it.
Burley, Hagler, Whitaker. I can't see how they're ahead or Moore.
I can see Moore being outside the Top 10 but I can't see how he's outside the Top 15.
I usually have pep 12 or 13 and moore at 14
Pep dominated a weight class... Moore was never dominant like that....
Burley beat moore, did he not, unless im mistaken... So i dont get how you can have moore ahead of him, when burley clearly beat him... it would be like have hopkins in front of jones, even though jones clearly beat him..
Hagler and whittaker had much better runs....
Maybe im missing something about moore, but he seems to have lost more times than not vs elite caliber fighters

As for the glen johnson similarities,, everyone who mentioned it, made clear that moore was a better fighter,, no one is trying to say that they are in the same league..
The similarities are that both kinda bounced around till mid 30s and won some big fights and titles.... To say their career trajectory is not similar is not accurate or your clearly missing the point

He lost to the best fighters more than he won?
He lost to Charles 3 times (Arguably the best fighter ever)
Lost to Burley once
Lost to Booker once
Lost to Williams once
Lost to Johnson once.
Beat Johnson 4 times
Beat Maxim 3 times
Beat Williams once
Beat Marshall twice
Beat Lytell once
I think that's more big wins than he has big loss's.
To say most of the times he faced an ATG he lost is plain silly.
Johnson is an ATG and he beat him 4 out of 5 times.
He went 1-1 with Holman Williams.
0-1 Burley, 0-1-1 with Booker.
His resume is exceptional even before his incredible feats at the age of 40 and over and his solid wins at HW when well beyond his prime.Last edited by IronDanHamza; 04-30-2014, 05:27 PM.

Not really in proper order, but off the top of my head, its something like that
and im probably leaving off a name or 2...
Moore is somwhere for me between 14-25 with the likes of floyd, manny, roy, hearns, monzon
He is a lock for top 25,, most likely top 20, i just dont think he cracks top 10, and depending on your criteria, he is somewhere in the teens...
Like i said before, i dont have a problem if someone has him at 6, but thats not how i rank him...

Calzaghe and Ottke dominated a division, many fighters dominate a division.
Moore beat ATG's multiple times and also one of, if not the greatest LHW of all time.

Cocoa Kid went 8-3 against Holman Williams. Who do you rank higher? Cocoa Kid beat Williams 8 times.
He also went 1-0 with Booker. Who ranks higher?
Saddler beat Pep 3 out of 4 times but Pep's in your Top 10 and Saddler's not in your Top 20.
Burley beat Moore once. But Moore pretty clearly has a much better resume and career.

Nonito Donaire had a better "Run" than Moore.
Moore's resume is much better than both Hagler's and Whitakers.

So? What does that mean?
Cocoa Kid went 8-3 against Holman Williams. Who do you rank higher? Cocoa Kid beat Williams 8 times.

Moore lost to burley and Ezzard, hence why i rank them higher.. Other random fighters like holman and booker are another debate entirely..
Saddler beat Pep 3 out of 4 times but Pep's in your Top 10 and Saddler's not in your Top 20.
Burley beat Moore once. But Moore pretty clearly has a much better resume and career.
Who cares about their "Runs"? What is a "Run"?
Nonito Donaire had a better "Run" than Moore.
Moore's resume is much better than both Hagler's and Whitakers.
A run would be SRL beating beneitz, duran, hearns and Kalule in about a 2 year period.. Something that Moore was never able to do
Again, false.
Any of the wins that moore has, none of those fighters are as good as Burley and Ezzard... So once again, the best fighters he fought, he lost to
