RING mag can always be devalued though. Most of them are spot on.

Yeah, I was right, I DID have it bookmarked, thanks. And I hope it does gain traction so that they can start making and giving deserving boxers title belts and be the only legit title belts, like The Ring was more like in the past.

Under the new leadership of Michael Rosenthal, I do find a few changes that is not of my liking.
But, some people here are too quick to judge, with less or none substance in their reflections. "GBP own The Ring so it must have turned corrupt" ain't good enough as an argument.
The Ring still remains a credible voice. While the GBP are investing money in it, they certainly know it would be suicide trying to interfere with the mag's long history of independant journalism.

Rankings and other such things are particularly subject to these issues. Rankings present a very condensed version of what is supposed to be better and worse...Naturally this invites a biase!

Actually, I find the magazines I regularly read have turned better since the arrival of internet. Because their only way to compete with the fast internet news are to provide with deeper, analyzing articles.
During the later years, I've learned quite a lot from the mags' writings I wasn't aware of before.

There is also the matter of scope....i.e. when a story, or a piece is sufficiently encompassing it can often present information in a fashion where different ideologies are represented intelligently. One problem that all publications have though, and ring is no exception, is that with the age of the internet comes the age of the blurb. people don't have the attention span to read through things intelligently.

What if Al Haymon bought Ring Magazine?
The Ruppert Murdoch empire owns most relevant publishing houses...Reutors, etc. because smart and riich people have learned that the biases you speak of are exactly why they should own the 'ring magazines' of the world. And it used to be the major papers....now? papers like Ring magazine, the daily's etc are being used to shape and shift public opinion.

Ring has had ghost guerrero, adrian broner, canelo as p4p guys... That is when i lost all credibility with them...
But honestly, all rankings seem to either be biased, or limited in scope and dont fully encompass the whole world
