And I don't think there is only a certain number of guys like 100 that are atgs... A number is cool if your making a list or article but in practical purpose there is no set number

I think only Ali and Louid have ATG heavyweight resumes. There are other heavyweight champions who are among the top 100 greatest ever, but all the rest are there more because of achievments at lower weights eg Ezzard Charles, Fitzsimmons, RJJ.
Are there any other heavyweights that can be considered atgs based only on their heavyweight resumes?
Johnson
Louis
Ali
Frazier
Foreman
Tyson
Holmes
Lennox
Holyfield
Liston
Vitali
Wlad
Ezzard and Moore but I consider labeling them light heavy

How i rank ATGs is h2h and then resume to clearly define a rank,, I usually ask myself who this fighter could beat at the absolute peak like tyson 86-88, manny 08-09, etc
point in case, i rank hearns higher than mcclarin because no doubt in my mind hearns would beat mcclarin,,, but mcclarin and oscar are close, but i give the edge to mcclarin due to his resume
Roy jones, tyson, and floyd have weak resumes compared to other ATGs but h2h they are nightmares for alot of people, same with the klitchkos,,,
So basically i use "who could beat who" and when its close i use resume and career achievements
what do you guys use to gauge ATG rankings

'All Time Great' will essentially and eventually become a matter of personal taste, as people like various of the big fighters. You can have a measuring stick with resume, boxing skill, dominance, longevity, outside ring influence on society/politics, etc. Boxing fans are in general NOT objective individuals, even though some of you might claim so.

- these are just the ones of the top of my head that Vitali can't compete with at all - after that it's debatable who ranks higher than who, but the likes of JJ Walcott, Wills, Dempsey, Charles, Tunney, Langford, Bowe etc also have better wins than Vitali imo. But then you can start arguing about longevity etc.

To expand on my earlier point, if the definition of an ATG is someone who can be ranked in a p4p top 100 then the only heavyweights champs I know for sure would get in are Ali, Louis, Charles, Fitzsimmons, Dempsey, Spinks and RJJ and apart from the first 2 these guys did their best work at lower weights.
To be honest I have never attempted a top 100 p4p list but I can't think of many guys who could make it purely from his heavyweight resume.
