      Possible answer

I believe the term rock away in boxing refers to when a opponent steps back while a punch is being thrown, dodges, and as the arm is retracting back to prepare for another punch the boxer who dodged the punch dashes forward slightly while following the punch to which he counter-attacks with his own punch p.s. Don't try unless your a professional boxer. if done wrong the reprocutions are sever(High level skills required)

Edwin L Haislet uses the term in his book. It is an exaggerated shoulder roll to compensate for a looped right hand

It's gotta be a term by the old timers for heavyweights to feint or duck. Never heard of it. Must be one of those things that sports science has antiquated.

It's also the name of a town in Long Island.
