  • Which punch is the most powerful?

The left hook causes the most KO's but I presume rightly or wrongly that it dosnt pack the most power because it dosnt have full hip rotation.

The straight right is very powerful it has full hip rotation, BUT because its powered by rotation and it is a linear strike the force is not transmitted as effeciently as a right hook, so I presume again it isnt the most powerful punch.

The right uppercut is powerful gets full hip rotation, but the rotation is channeled up so the force may not be transmitted as effeciently as a purely rotational punch like the right hook, and it goes against gravity somewhat.

The right hook is the most powerful because it gets full hip rotation, the arc of the arm is congruent with the rotation of the body so its a pure punch, and it takes a long time to reach the target giving it plenty of time to build up speed.

What do you think is the most powerful punch and why?

Oh this is for the average body type not an unusally proportioned person.

Also its for total power as if it were measured on one of those pounds per square inch power gauges.

Over hand rights and left dont take that long if anything it goes against gravity to considering its a over hand there really is no right hook for orthodox fighters because it would leave you off balance and squared up. It really all depends on leverage and how good the fighters technique is throwing it. Tyson would Prbly say his uppercut is his most powerful punch while jones would say its his left hook and sonny Liston would Prbly say the jab. So it really just depends.

No right hook for orthadox fighters?

Julian Jackson, Mike Tyson, George Foreman, Holyfield etc are just a few that use it?

Are you sure you are right still?

cmon no trolling, I said total power, not whats effective at causing the KO in boxing. Just a sheer measure of force for the sake of curiousity.

This was actually the most correct answer from the standpoint of boxing, not bricks or wall breaking

You can use it sure but I was always taught there is no right hook I left hook for orthodox and south paw fighters because it leaves you open to much and leave you off balance.
