  • Micheal Carbajal has there ever been a bigger puncher

I can not think of a bigger puncher or all out offensive fighter at light flyweight that little guy could punch he was an offensive force he could loose every round and still come through with the one shot to turn the tide (vs Jorge Arce) one of the most all out brutal offensive battles was Micheal Carbajal vs Humberto Gonzolas 1 I don't care who you are even if you only like heavyweights this was one of the best slugfests I ever saw and they were 107lbs how he made it through round 5 I will never know he got rocked in the first 30 seconds and went down looking like he was not gonna get up and continued to get pummeled the entire round If you haven't seen Carbajal vs Gonzalez 1 watch it you won't be disapointed

Yes, carbajal was one of my favorites back in the 90's......

only dude that comes close to being a little guy with a huge punch would have been manny.....

I enjoyed watching him too back in the day.

You would think that the Arizona area would have become more of a hotbed for boxing.

Arizona had it's moments. But with it being in the middle of Las Vegas, California and Mexico it loses on the promotional ground. Carbajal and Louie Espinoza did a lot for it.
But mainly a lot of fighters from other states go to Arizona to train and some to fight there. Tyson always trained here back in the day and the Kronk Gym used to spend a few winters there.

yes as far as his offense went he had a big straight right and good left jab though he would get away from it even though he had a distinct reach advantage over his opponents probably because he loved fighting on the inside he had about every punch in the book and threw them all well and with bad intentions he was not the typical small boxer with quick feet and all but he was good at finishing off his combo's on balance and in punching position he was always one of my favorites to watch his fights never lacked action

Little Red Lopez was originally from Utah, but he turned pro in Los Angeles where his brother was already well established.
