Have to agree with this. Liston was one tough mofo with heavyweight KO power in his jab alone. One would only have to take a look at how he demolished pretty much everyone he faced up until the first Clay fight, where he 1) was getting older and 2) openly said BEFORE the fight that he hadn't been training hard and expected Clay to last no longer than a couple of rounds.

First time anyone in this current division would feel his monster jab, and it was a monster jab, they would crumble. I remember Albert Westphal, who had never previously in his career been hurt or KD, saying that it felt like Liston had bricks in his gloves.

Great fighter, and underestimated a lot by "new-age" boxing fans.

Liston just mediocre; falls to the Klits

Today's heavyweights are arguably the most pathetic in history. I don't think Liston would fare well against either of the Klits. All three are mechanical, unimaginative fighters. Liston was not an agile heavyweight and quite flat-footed. Liston's opponents were just as limited as he was and all quite slow. Liston's opponents didn't have movement, so they were human punching bags to a plodding Liston, with predictable results. Liston was predictable. He didn't have the skills to get inside and this would spell doom in fighting the Klits. The usual one-two by either of the big Klits would be Liston's undoing.

Ali exposed Liston and a slow, unimaginative slugger would couldn't adjust his game plan. Liston NOT a winner. He falls to both the Klits IMO.

heavyweights were so much smaller and weaker back then. the klits and lewis would tower over liston and have a good 30 lbs on him and as u said liston was fairly slow in terms of hand and foot speed. hed be giving up both size and speed to the klits and lewis. I think all 3 stop liston within the distance

Seems like every post I see from you involves nuthugging a Klitschko or dissing those critical of them. I have no problems talking boxing with people who actually know what the **** they're talking about. The problem is, neither you nor HWeightblogger know what the **** you're talking about.
