You have just shattered your own credibility and exposed yourself now.

Liston battered Patterson like he was nothing because that's exactly what he WAS.

Of course Floyd was ducking Sonny, Sonny was the ONLY natural HW with good power seen. The best in the world at the time and better than any whom came before I should judge. And Patterson was probably the weakest champ of all time, in all 130 years of the sport bar maybe 1 or 2 others.

THAT is what I call a pathetic mismatch!

Never would any modern HW be ALLOWED to KO such a light and flimsy opponent as Patterson and is testament to how bad Liston really was.

If you delete all bums who lost more than a quarter of their fights,
    Delete all sub 200 fighters,
And delete all fighters on losing streaks.

You end up with ZERO win opponents on Liston's record.

Quote this mate "Liston was a cruiser cruncher and bum beater exclusively and as soon as he met a decent opponent, he lost!"

Liston is uncoordinated, he is inaccurate, he telegraphs his shots, throws wild hayemakers, his jab had some good moments but hardly a great jab. Sometimes he sticks his jab out and leaves it there, real slick rangefinder that one. He cannot use his arms to properly defend himself and they seem to be detatched from his body like the tentacles of an octopus.

Above all he is as slow as a wet wig and this guy is the BEST that the 50's and early 60's had to offer!

I can't believe your even being disrespectful enough to compare Liston to a Klitschko. That's ridiculous!

Where exactly did I lose credibility?

And read my previous post regarding new age fans and facts. Please leave the history section Heavyweightblogger alt. I know it's you.

With regards to the bold, I don't even know what to say. But let me find a quote:

"Liston was giving me that stare. And I won't lie; I was scared. Sonny Liston was one of the greatest fighters of all time. He was one of the most scientific boxers who ever lived, he hit hard and he was fixing to kill me. It frightened me, just knowing how hard he hit." - Muhammad Ali

Yet this Cassius Clay, who what we would today regard as a former CW and who was lighter than practically any HW today and far skinnier than any by far, with a weak punch, managed to easily defeat Liston and make him look absolutely ******.

I'll tell you who looked scared in that fight and it wasn't Ali, Liston looked like he was majorly concerned that his opponent was such a big man at 6'3" and fit and rightly so.

I'm sorry but that's just hogwash from Ali, he was always full of it. A lot of boxers are, they bash a guy up and then claim they were good boxers because it's good for their own credibility... Obviously!

And I am NOT THE HWBLOGGER!

Liston would be considered the greatest if he fought the weak lot at heavyweight today.

It goes on today as well don't worry, Wladimir bashes Mormecks head in a mismatched opponent just like Floyd was for Liston and then goes on to claim that Mormeck "hit harder than Tyson" lol bloody idiot!

And yes you are. That guy (you) is incredibly ignorant on all things boxing.

Yeah ok that's me, your a real detective.

I'm sorry but I can't find any common ground either who tries to pass **** off as gold in light of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, even VIDEO evidence!

If liston fought today he would get body bagged. He was 6 ft 1 with a big reach for his size. But that's where it stops.

6ft 1 is the same size as the light heavies, he would get ****ed on.
