I challenged for a world title, I had the worst record ever of anyone doing so...AT that point (I did get the shot), I had atleast 10 fights....

    Identify me?

Having given the trivia, where are JAB, McGoorty, Kid Mccoy gone? Cant see any of them posting regularly, I saw that JAb's profile showing up as banned though, he was the mod wasn't he?

Don't know if this is the worst, but it has to be close.
Francisco Quiroz was 9-10-1 when he challenged for the wba light flyweight title. He won.

Depends on what you consider "world title" fights.

As reigning flyweight champion Pascual Perez once ko'd Pablo Sosa (0-18 at the time) in what was supposed to be a non-title 10-rounder... but where the title was at stake, since both men were inside 112 lbs.

Back in 1926 Jamaica Kid, with a 21-52-9 record, lost a shot against Jack Delaney for the light heavyweight title.

I think lets stick with official title fights.

Don't know who we're looking for here, and i'd like to find out. But not by straining my eyes for hours on boxrec.. One of those you either know or you don't.. My instant answer was, Pete Rademacher, but the guy was 0-0-0, and we're looking for someone with 10 or more fights.

            Couple of pot-shots for starters,

Ed Petroskey 7-2-9 vs Frank Klaus [mw title]
Tommy Hicks 12-5-3 vs Bob Foster [lhwt title]

Freddie Pendleton? He had 17 losses on his record when he won the IBF lightweight title.

30 odd wins though, so his record was around the 50/50 mark..

Worse than 9-10-1 is what we're looking for, and tbh it's doing my head in lol.

I remember Mitch "Blood" Green fought against some dude for some world title. The guy he fought had around 100 losses or so. I can't go on boxrec though right now cause the site is down for me.

EDIT: Mitch Green won the Vacant WBS Super Heavyweight Title against Danny Wofford who had a record of 17 wins and 94 Losses with 2 draws.
