Not as good as his record indicates. A typically softly matched D'Amato fighter. His title reign was a dud and he was very lucky to get a gift decision against 40 y/o Eddie Cotton.

Torres had the defensive Damato peek a boo style that I thought
Led to boring fights.

I saw him lose the Lt. Heavy title to **** Tiger in MSG. Think it
was 1968.

There never was a buzz about an upcoming Torres fight that I can remember.
