I think it is hard to nail down one style for Duran because he changed styles as he moved up in weight. He was a truly great fighter so in some regards he transcended boxing styles and developed his own unique style. Brawler, pressure fighter, counter puncher all mixed into one.

It is the other way around, Duran was a brawler first and could be slick if necessary

tend to agree with the last comment but i'll push it further. i dont remember roberto ever circling the ring. he was always either attacking, stalking or angling for an openning. he was very slick but always with the act or intent of attacking. a slick, skilled aggressive fighter, not a boxer puncher

Roberto always just wanted to "out-man" you, no matter who you were. At the same time, though, he was smart in going about his business in the ring.

Duran was a one off and not easy to put into one category but if I had to do it I would say he was a Box Fighter but very adaptable and calculating. He had a terrific calculating stalking mode which would beat most opponents and could swarm and put on unbelievable pressure when that was the policy that would get better results. He was tough, had a great ring IQ and supernatural instincts and was real animal. There was a cold calculating aura of menace about him,rhe guy was special,a real one off.

And Prince is considered rock/pop, by the way, depending on what song of his you're listening to, mostly rock though, from what I've heard.

Duran was a natural and instinctive fighter!

He boxed, he brawled and he could punch but ultimately he was a FIGHTER.
He in my opinion is the perfect example of a professional boxer
