I have no problem with anyone saying Jones jr would beat Hagler. Roy Jones was the best fighter I personally ever saw. however, to say bhop would play with Hagler and stop him lol

My point wasn't to grade out the opposition sinplty state they all came to fight! Hagler made his manditories then also so where you get the under sized BS is on you. They all stepped up to earn the money and they all grew out of the division they were in.

Leonards "win" was calculating as all hell he let Hagler fight on at his end then came out of "hiding" to run for the distance. Plenty of people give the bout to Hagler, because in those times you had to "TAKE" the title not run and play tag to get it!
All of the men I mentioned were top twenty-five guys and all I mention never had a problem with a promoter not using them. They came from the live show era and that metal has been deflated in these times. Another words they "earned" their rep the hard way. Briscoe Monroe and Seales would be Champions today, easily!

Hearns pushed for a rematch with Hagler right up to the day Marvin retired, but Hagler knew what lay in store for him had he accepted.

It's been years but since I saw the fight. I saw it as it happened and watched the tape numerous times. I scored it as a draw many times and don't think that I ever had SRL as winning by more than two points.

I don't think that SRL landed enough clean hard shots to be called a clear-cut winner let alone that he dominated Hagler.

I know almost everything there is possible to know about the careers of both Hagler & Lewis. They fought their career's when i was in my 20/30s i have all the magazines from that period like Ring, Boxing News, Boxing Monthly, KO Magazine. I seen both fight live`during their championship reign's. i have most of their fights on video.. So to call my comments "Shameless Agenda" is laughable.. you i guess would not even have been a twinkle in your daddy's eye back in the 1980s . which is why you cannot post anything constructive to this debate. it is not what it says of Hagler as a middleweight. It is what it says of Jones Jr. Toney & BHop as middleweights. How vastly superior they are than what the limited Marvin Hagler was.

Would Jones, Toney & BHop take 10rds to KO Marcos Geraldo or 8rds to KO Fully Obel ?
What about 11rds to beat John Mugabi ? Gerald McClellan done it in the opening round...

Marvin Hagler was a very good fighter and great middleweight champion. But in my opinion he was NOT a Top 10 All Time Middleweight Champion.. (which is a different topic) ... This subject is "Best resume in boxing history".. Marvin Hagler most certainly does not hold claim to that title.
