Pachecho was extremely obnoxious and I'll never forgive him for what he said during Benn-McClellan.

After watching a number of fights with him commentating on showtime, I can't stand him either. He's a big time ass hole. I remember when Marv Albert was having his legal problems and controversy, Pacheco called his brother Steve "Marv Albert at ringside". Steve Albert was clearly pissed about it too.

I believe he was ridiculing Gerald for being a quitter. I haven't seen the fight in years so my memory is hazy without looking it up.

Pacheco was saying that McClellan was quitting like a dog, when it was becoming obvious there was something very wrong with him. I could tell this observing on TV, and everything I know about medicine I learned from watching General Hospital. This guy is a physician who was at ringside and that never occured to him? Even worse was his typical arrogance he showed in saying it. You might be able to find it on YouTube somewhere.

Ferdie Pacheco was a flubbin' ****-up on both NBC and Showtime. He screwed names up consistently and seemed like he himself was suffering from dementia.

After he was done calling fights he appeared on a documentary about Joe Frazier (centered on "The Thrilla in Manila") in which he insulted Joe Frazier viciously. I wanted to jump through the screen and bash his head in, it was that bad.

When watching it live, it looked very strange that Gerald was sticking his mouthpiece out and having random blinking ticks. For two or three rounds too!

You're quite right, any physician should have seen these warning signs as being due to some form of injury.

Oh okay. McClellan was the guy that went blind, partially deaf and uses a cane and used to be in a wheelchair. Man, now that's a hard puncher to be able to do that to a guy.

Oh yeah, that pissed me off too. He was the one who called Frazier dumb right? The guy does seem to have dementia these days. The only thing he said I agreed with was that the Nation of Islam were using Ali and his name to advance their cause.

That's not actually true. A truly devastating puncher would get a guy out of there before an accumulation of punches could wreak such havoc.

Of the two (Benn and McCLellan) McClellan was the more murderous puncher.

There is a belief that part of what damaged McClellan was him dehydrating to make weight. This was not an issue in his previous bouts because he was dusting guys early.
