The details stipulated for the Hagler fight are not folklore, they are the outcome of negotiation and demands.

The policy for rematches... what in the hell are you talking about
I am talking about the timing or lack of rematches.

Then you can add the negotiations for the Hagler fight.
Or his "interesting" policy on rematches.
What about Oscars 'policy' on rematches?

Oscar also had a weight clause for the Hopkins fight. That seems to be overlooked in this thread.

As was the 'cut' that postponed the Quartey fight.

LOL That too. Also how he waited until Quartey was inactive and looked vunerable before having any interest in fighting him.

Right, do you honestly think those 2 catchweights had the same effect?

Look. I do not particularly like Oscar in *any* way (and the Quartey point is well taken), but he just never pulled the same level of bs. not even close. Come on... what is out there out of everything that Oscar did that can remotely approach the b!tchassness of being retired until hagler announced his retirement?

Leonard was the better athlete and had more skills than Oscar had including the will to win!! They both stunk in their latter careers so their even there!
Other than that its really not close other than size. Oscar choose to fight with is knees and waist with more bend in them. Their both right around 5'9 1/2 to 5" 10" and both natural at around 150 to 156 in good shape at age 30yrs! They both made 47 easily when they were young men and were simular in many ways physically! Ray.
