It seems you're implying I'm an Ali hater primarily because I don't have him at #1. I'm just trying to convince you there are other points of view than simply your own.
Question: If Marciano had lost one fight... just one... would you still rank him as the best heavyweight of all time?

Depending on who he had lost to and what circumstances...

Bad decisions aside, who did Marciano fight who he could have suffered a loss to and still be considered the top heavyweight ever? Hopefully your response won't be as vague as the one above.

I believe the first fight with La Starza in which he was having some personal problems. He then came back to win more than impressively. I'd say virtually all ATG's have bad nights at one point or another...

Personal problems: The greatest excuse in boxing history.

And for the record, many people think LaStarza did beat Marciano.

And many people think Walcott had beat Louis once...

he didn't though, so why is this even a serious question?

I'm not even trying to be rude, it's just silly to me.

No-one clings to Louis only having 1 prime loss as a reason for his greatness though.

It wasn't my question to begin with. I just felt the response to it was totally evasive. But this forum is largely based on speculation to begin with, so it was a legit question here.
