I would imagine most prospects who are special wash out before fans ever really get to know them. Then, the majority are guys who have good careers...
Very few reach ATG status... and forget HOF in boxing! its not important. ATG status is important. mancini squarely is in the second group here. Nothing to be ashamed of... Professional prize fighting is an enerprise that takes LUCK & more luck, great skill, great self discipline, more luck and the ability to not have a fundamentally exploitative quality.
Example of the last would be David Price. Now, take price, give him a touch of Marciano's will, a decent chin, and things might have been different... give Tua more reach.... you get the idea.
Greatness is always a quality that is rare. You can take kids from all over this country... and by the time you get gifted kids with an IQ in the genius levels... You will have a sample of kids that is very small.
