I think that the discussion is getting a bit random here, everyone is talking about something different.
IMO
The guy who *landed* the hardest punches is Tyson, Baer and Dempsey are not far IMO, but Baer didnt land as much (in other words he is a lower caliber of fighter, much less effective and had "super power" only in one hand).
Wlad is the one who *could have landed* the hardest shots, but he understandably fights safety first (and who wouldnt? with that chin and that stamina...)
p4p it's clearly langford, but at HW he doesnt belong.
Tyson was such a great combination puncher in his earlier days that it tends to get inextricably tied up with his general punching power, but I think there's more than enough evidence to show that he ranks highly in the one punch KO category as well. He was certainly capable of downing large and durable opponents with single punches, and did so until well into his later years long after his combination punching skills had diminished.
yeah thats a joke. You arent a bad poster but the speed difference is HUGE.
Wlads perhaps got good speed considering his size, but he's not fast. Not even as quick as the dude in your av.
i think he's talking about speed relative to size and length, like you mentioned. for a massive man he is athletic.
he's no lebron, but he can move pretty good.
wladimirs punches have a huge distance to travel and take a while to speed up.
but once they get going they have a lot of snap on them.
and you can usually see his right hand coming or rather you can tell when he's going to throw it. if you were waiting to see tysons punches in flight it was too late.
mike tyson, however might be the fastest HW ever, at least for the first few rounds

Both fighters are difficult to compare due to how dissimilar their styles are, but isolate individual punches, since this is 99% of what Wlad throws nowadays, and you'd be surprised at how favourably he matches up in handspeed. Combination punching there's no comparison of course, but that was as much due to Tyson's phenomenal ability to shift balance and torque as it was his raw speed.
Anyway, I've already acknowledged that Tyson's the faster man. Not sure why there's such a big hoo-ha about it.

I'd say that would be more due to his predictable fight pattern than due to any telegraphing he might do. Even so, he's caught more than a few fast heavyweights with it. Watch the Chambers fight and try to spot the moment he lands the right that staggers Eddie in the second round. He times it better than he's given credit for.

the fastest not named muhammad that is
Definitely one of the fastest, though when you get to that upper echelon I find it almost impossible and rather pointless to separate anybody out into first, second, third etc.
