I really hope that the Maidana fight wasnt just a case of a great fighter using his Last great performance then slipping back into mediocrity

      Yeah pep got a shout.

How about ur man Toney? He had a career revival after Jirov

i was gonna say that. and what a great fight that was too.

i would also say that vic darchinyan made an excellent comeback after being ko'd by donaire. his performance against mijares was masterful and the arce win wasn't too shabby either. and with such close losses to agbeko and mares (i had vic winning that one by a point) moving up in weight he deserves some props

Benjamin Leiner. More commonly known as Benny "The ****** Wizard" Leonard. He had a comeback to make money, although some of his fights went NC newspaper decisions, he probably was the best LW champ.

Muhammad Ali.His Greatness was stripped of his title in 1967 and banned from fighting in the US as well as being sentenced to 5 years in prison. Part of his bail conditions during his appeal ment he couldnt fight abroad either. This was of course over Ali's refusal to fight in the Vietnam war. Eventually he was granted the right to box again and he never did any bird. So after 3 and a half of his peak years on the shelf he made his comeback, still undefeated against Jerry Quarry who he stopped in 3. Only six weeks later he was in the ring again, dropping Oscar Bonavena 3 times in the 15th to score a TKO in a fight where he looked ordinary and struggled to find his rhythm. Then came Joe Frazier. The fight of the centuary, Ali the Undefeated former champ who never lost the belts in the ring, the people's champ vs Frazier the newly crowned HW champ with the relentless style and big left hook. After a classic hard fought battle in which Ali was dropped the decision went to Frazier. After that Ali fought regularly against solid comp on his comeback, Former WBA champ Jimmy Ellis was first. Ali scored 10 wins in 18 months. Scored a couple of razor thin wins over top contender Ken Norton and then got his rematch with Frazier. Ali avenged the Smokin Joe loss after a comparitively dull bout, winning on points after 12. Ali at 33 went to the Jungle in Zaire a big underdog to face the fearsome and Unbeaten puncher George Foreman for the championship after George had ripped it from Frazier in crushing fashion. After 7 rounds of missing badly and atgging arms and gloves in the Zaire heat a pent up and frustrated Foreman was a spent force. Ali had played him with the Rope-a-Dope and KO'd the big man in the 8th. He made 10 defences including the third and final brutal war with Frazier in Mannilla. In 78 aged 36 he lost the belt embarressingly to novice pro Leon Spinks but would win it back in the return and retired. Sadly he made another comeback two years later losing badly to Holmes and Berbick
