I always find it a bit unfair that Julio Cesar Chavez isnt mentioned in these discussions.

go to about 3:08. whens the last time youve seen a 7 punch combination of only left hands, and all of them landing? or look at the combo that puts Ali away, or the one at about 3:40.

Chavez put together punches better than most ATGs, and mixed headshots and bodyshots almost effortlessly.

Chavez can put em together, those left hands at 3.08 were wicked.

very good point. he also didn't set his feet much to fight until his legs went when he got deep into his 30's


his punches look pretty though

Dont get me wrong i really enjoy watching JMM fight,you summed it up well with 'aesthetically pleasing' in recent years he seems too put more mustard into some of his combinations

I think his opponents have helped in a way though,Diaz and Katsidis dont have much of a defence,still,beating young strong guys like them in the fashion he did was very impressive

Marquez is the best and the poll reflects that, its like poetry in motion when he lets them fly...

Honestly i feel his combination punching is THE best ive ever seen, not as brutal as a Joe Louis who i gave the nod for second place in this poll but smoother and classier
