Come on Mark, that's a video of Greb messing around with with a 50 year old O'Brien. There is film of Tunney, Walker and plenty of other excellent fighters Greb beat. I find it difficult to believe the man wasn't absolutely great taking that and newspaper descriptions of the day into account.

Absolutely. Chamberlain would be a major force in the NBA anytime in the past or the future. He was a sensational athlete.

Jorge Luis Gonzalez beat both Bowe and Lewis in the amateurs. Randy Shields beat Sugar Ray Leonard. How did that turn out in the pro's? It's baffling to me how many people on this site continue to use amateur fights as an example.

Henry Tillman beat Mike Tyson twice in the ams.....How'd that matchup work out for him in the pros where it actually matters?

and its baffeling to me how 2 people could misunderstand simply sharring information for making an argument.

you do realize that if i was actually makeing an argument with my post it would have been that jimmy ellis was better then Louis.

have you read anything ive ever posted? does this sound like an argument i would make?

That still doesn't change my point that a win in the amateurs over Ali has absolutely no relevance to the status of a professional. It certainly doesn't add anything to Ellis pro career.
