In the pre internet day I always enjoyed KO Magazine.

One mistake I made was subscribing to it. It always arrived literally weeks after it appeared at the newsstand and the content was terribly dated. I sent them a letter complaining about it, and it went unanswered. But at least Bert Sugar was never the magazine's publisher (unlike the perpetually overrated Ring Magazine)

There was also a really good newsletter (can't remember the name quickly) that gave fresh news and results by mail before the internet made it obsolete.

No word of a lie, I just ran into Steve Farhood at the fights in Worcester and asked him to please bring back KO magazine. He BEAMED and was so thrilled to hear people still remember that magazine and want it back, he said it was the thing he was most proud of. And when I told him how I wanted it: on pulp paper, for like $3 an issue, and to rock like it used to... he said, "and with a centerfold in every issue."

      Yup.

I always thought Steve Farhood was awesome.

Same here. His love for the sport seems so genuine, plus he has good insights and no obvious agenda.

In the past week, I have spoken with Steve Farhood and also Joseph Santoliquito from Ring about bringing back KO Magazine, and it looks like it's not ever coming back.

                The internet is the reason.

I believe Joe S. is from my neck of the woods. He is occasionally on a local sports radio station, but boxing is virtually never discussed on it.

Russell Peltz had a one hour program back in the very early 90's on the station. I actually won tickets to Michael Moorer vs Bert Cooper from his show.

The internet definitely is one big reason the print media is dead and dying but, according to Joe, Ring apparently does own the rights to KO and could conceivably bring it back, but doesn't citing the economics of it, but I think if they "split" Ring Magazine (which is like two - maybe three old magazines stuffed into one), split it into two magazines and branded one Ring and the other KO, they could offer some variety and some nostalgia to fans and they could stagger the release dates so they would be getting out a magazine on the 1st and 15th of every month.

Ring would be Ring and have Ring features.

KO would be KO w/ KO features.

                  $5 an issue.

I'd buy BOTH and Ring would be getting an xtra buck outta me every month.

They get $9 now for Ring.

                    Jeff Fenech

Was there ever a centerfold/pin-up of Jeff Fenech in KO or any other publication?

                    Thanks,

                    Eddie

                      KO magazine

KO was the best followed by Boxing Illustrated. I thought RING was
over rated. I bought Ring to add to my collection but KO was my
                      favorite.
