    another cool guy from philly is george benton... had a pretty good career going but never became champ.. beat giardello among others.. but was shot and had to call it quits.. later became a really sucessfull trainer and was inducted to the hof on those merits...

        Born, raised, and still live in Philadelphia...so I say "thank you" for this thread.

        My favorite fighters to come out of my hometown were Matthew Saad Muhammad, and the very awesome bantamweight- "JOLTIN'" JEFF CHANDLER!
