  • Antwon Echols VS Today's MW's

    Current RIng Top 10 MW's

    Champ: Sergio
    1) Sturm
    2) Geale
    3) PWilly
    4) Macklin
    5) Sylvester
    6) Chavez Jr
    7) Zbik
    8) Pirog
    9) N'Jikam
    10) Rubio

Does anyone think he doesn't annihilate everyone but Sergio?

Echols vs Sergio would be a classic, but I lean towards Echols intelligent pressure in the first half and a Sergio decision if it goes past 8. Mixed with his size and strength of course.

Echols is a pretty underrated fighter.

He had some solid wins and I rank as some of Hopkins best wins.

Didn't look too good when did step up, though.

I would pick him over most at MW currently but mainly because the division is quite poor.

Martinez, Sturm, Pirog and even Williams (assuming he isn't mentally broken) I would pick to beat him.

Echolscuts the ring off with Sturm and jabs with him to a brutal beatdown IMO.
Pirog, provided he has the stamina and mental toughness I THINK he has could beat Echols, but I haven't seen him exhibit it enough to pick him, but yeah, that's probably not an annihilation and Pwill would probably get put to sleep by leaving himself too open to me, Exhols was a patient fighter who would zap that right when needed. Willy would need more pop IMO to neat Echols, Antwon welcomed the volume and was at home exchanging. Prigo and Sergio could outbox him (possibly pirog) because they have the pop to keep him off.

I cant get over that Sturm loss to Castellejo and his reluctance to face a real threat. Echols would probably run over him.

        You make good points.

I don't think Echols beat anyone better than Paul Williams to be honest. I think Williams-Echols would be a good fight but a fight that Williams' works out a Descion. Williams' chin get too little credit since the brutal KO.

Echols could easily by a stylistic nightmare for Sturm and could also get the descion. I still would lean on Sturm, though.

In terms of competition, Sturm's hasn't been the best but he does have a few solid, good wins and which are probably better than Echols' comp. He has improved since the stoppage to Castillejo aswell.

Pirog I watched for a long time and have always been impressed with his skills. Albeit he hasn't really fought anyone really. I picked him to beat Jacobs by Descion and was pretty astounded by his stoppage.

Martinez I believe beats Echols with ease.

              Hopkins, lopsided descion.

              Different class of fighter IMO.

agreed, i dont see any advantage for sergio....bhop is huge for sergio, murder for lefties, and waaaaaay to technically sound. the reliance on physical gifts isn't there for bhop and that would hurt sergio in that fight because he has the gifts, but doesn't fight like he needs them...for example, his arsenal is endless. hook off the jab to the body, uppercut off the hook top the body, double rights.....outside/inside/mid range, he's comfortable in all of them

Echols would get shut out by Martinez Williams and Sturm, and he would clearly lose to Geale.

As for B-Hop vs Sergio that is an interesting fight the Tito-Taylor B-Hop has a good chance at getting out worked and losing just because he starts too slow. The pre Trinidad KO artist B-Hop knocks Martinez out

so i only take umbrage to sturm, geale and pwilly......

name one hard big dude that cuts off the ring intelligently that geale beat..

shi t, name the same thing for sturm. sturm would never ever hold up to the heat the echols brought, EVER.

pwilly i can listen to an argument, but again, echols likes the heat and I think pwills best weight is 154. pwill is one of my top 3 fighters in the game today but i dont like echols for him today. i think pwill is a top 5 MW in the echols days but i dont like echols style fo rhim. echols is a busy fighter too......with mad pop
