Rocky was a FIGHTER on a level Tyson could only emulate.

He did a decent job of it mind you, but Rocky was undefeated for a reason.

not a whole lot said, but I like it. At the core of both men Rocky has much more fighter in him than Tyson

Terry A: I respect your opinion, but I was taken aback by one point. The suggestion that Rocky would be scared of Tyson or intimidated by him. While most poor unfortunate souls looked across the ring at Mike you can clearly see their fear I totally agree. I disagree with the notion that Marciano was anything like most Tyson opponents. I know Rocky got angry with his brother for hinting to having doubts about Walcott. It's pretty well known his mother would go to church to pray for his opponents safety...to suggest to God that Rocky could lose, or get hurt, with out divine intervention wasn't even considered. Not that she didn't want him to be safe, but Rocco demanded absolute faith and confidence in him from those in his life. IMO Rocky's not afraid of anyone, and to suggest he is, is a bit of an attack on Rocco's drive, and unwillingness to accept loss....even for a second. I don't mean to take anything away from Tyson, he was a scary ass dude, buy honestly I could see Rocky across the ring from the predator giving him the Ruckson face

IMO Tyson takes Marciano. Marciano never met anyone with Tyson's speed, power and relentlessness. Also at 218-221lbs Tyson was big so he couldn't get pushed around.

It all depends WHICH Tyson we are talking about. The 1985-88 Tyson would have a good chance to stop even The Rock. But the one that got a beating from Douglas and went life and death with Ruddock in the rematch would just get whooped.

Well said. Rocky was great fighter but this is a bad match up for him. He never ever fought anyone as strong and powerful as a prime tyson and I can see a blow out here. Tyson never won a fight he looked like losing and it stops him from being an all time great heavy which Rocky surely was but I can see a rocky who was dropped by much smaller men like walcott (cruiser) and moore (lt heavy) being able to handle Tyson's prime punches.

Ina nutshell rocky a greater fighter but a bad match up for him against a bully fighter who was much bigger, faster and more powerful.

                Marchegiano,
I agree with you. I don't think the Rock wouldn't have been afraid of Tyson. In fact, I can't figure out where you got that I even alluded to such in my post. I was careful to point out how, imo, Marciano had far more heart then Tyson. "Most of the guys" that fought Tyson does not mean that that includes Rocky. Two different paragraphs for a reason there.

If this was a newspaper, I would demand you print a retraction! But we're all about having fun here, so let the show go on!

But let the record show I never said Marciano would be afraid of Leg-iron Mike! It just ain't in there.

Well check up on who dropped the Rock, and compare their age, etc. vs a pre-Douglas Tyson.

Bottom line is if the Rock hits Tyson a good shot, he could KO him.

But in all probability, it would be a pre-Douglas Tyson who quickly first gets to Rocky and KOs him.
