I am talking about prime Margarito not the zombie that fought Mosley. Margarito had an unbreakable chin and Hearns didn't have enough discipline to stay outside and it would only be a matter of time, Margarito is an excellent finisher.

Against Hearns, I doubt it. Hearns boxes the **** out of him...Hearns has an incredibly awkward style that makes him hard to beat. He can usually outbox you and if he can't, he can usually outslug you too. I would actually pick a crazy brawler like Mayorga to have a chance against Hearns, though. The way to beat him was to throw caution to the wind and hope that your power and chin hold up longer than his...Margarito would do this but in the wrong way. Margarito wants to chop you down, Mayorga wants to blow you the **** out. I still don't think Mayorga beats him (obviously) but I'd pick him to upset Hearns a couple of times.
Hearns is an absolute nightmare for both Mayorga and Magarito.

Both have done nothing at 154 to suggest they are even competitive with him.

Prime Margarito did nothing at 154.

Iran Barkley didn't do anything that should suggest he could even survive the first six rounds, let alone win by violent KTFO either. I'm saying that you can't try to out box Hearns, you probably can't outslug him either (unless you're the Thing...I mean Marvin Hagler), you just have to throw caution to the wind and hope for the best. Sounds just like Mayorga to me. Basically, Hearns is a nightmare for everyone.

Considering it was at 160 and after his brutal fight with Hagler I don't think it applies here.

Hearns never lost to anyone who wasn't absolutely world class at 154 and below and nothing Mayorga did and does tells me he has a chance in hell against Tommy Hearns at 154.

            I just can't see it.

Mayorga would be a heavy, heavy underdog. And he should be. But part of me just thinks that he could survive just long enough drop the hammer on Hearns and put him to sleep. He could only win via fluke. But at 147-154, it's not easy to see too many guys winning by anything other than fluke against Hearns. I think that head to head, Hearns is one of the p4p best all time.

Doesn't matter, we are talking about matchups we're not comparing resumes.

Prime Margarito never did anything at 154 but lose to Daniel Santos. I'm talking about prime Margarito too. What excuse do you have for Margarito losing to Paul Williams? To put it bluntly, Margarito is not and never has been in Hearns class. And lets not pretend like Margarito is some one shot KO artist because he's not.

And it's a bad one for Margarito based on his trouble with speed and boxing ability. I won't even get into the power shots he would have to take.

Hearns doesn't have the discipline to just stay outside and box it would be a brawl and its obvious who has the advantage Margarito has an amazing chin Hearns has a bad chin
