Actually seeing as you are the all mighty figure of the History Section I'll leave, see what other posters think to it.

This and the Cervantes vs DeJesus thread are my last posts here.

Other posters have already responded to this, but Tua's handspeed was very, very underrated. This can be seen from the triple left hook he threw against Wilson, and the leaping left hook he landed against Lewis. There are other examples, but those are the first that spring to mind. His feet were stuck in cement though, 90% of the time.

That would be a shame. You seem like a fairly decent poster.

            Tua vs Barrett.

            sorry... i had to.

you had david tua beating jack johnson, one of the greatest defensive big men of all time, among many others who would beat him soundly.
and a wrong needed to be righted

You've never had anything constructive to say because practically everything you say is flat out wrong. You should invest in a new sport because boxing definately isn't your forte.

I learn a lot from NChristo, he's a good addition to the section.

who are you trying to fool with remarks like this about David Tua who was never ever a top flight fighter in his whole career. take away his lucky win over John Ruiz and his ko over old michael moorer and he achieved absolutely nothing yet some on here are saying he could beat ATG fighters which is simply taking it all too far.

chuvalo-tua would have been like the battle of kursk.

I don't think even the best version beats Lewis, but he certainly could've made it less one sided and added more credibility to your vs ATGs predictions.

I would pay good money to see (the best version of, say against Ruiz or Ibeabuchi) Tua fight Marciano, Frazier, Norton, Tyson, Dempsey, Max Baer, Louis and even lesser guys like Lyle, Morrison, Shavers, Quarry, Golota and Sanders.
1st reaction was he was out of shape for lewis because he came in so heavy.

but he really wasn't. i think they thought it would be a good idea to come in that heavy.

big mistake imo. lewis still spanks him but he would have been better off being lighter.

Tua typically hits guys a few times and knocks them out. If you get hit with enough hard shots to the face something's gonna give. Look at Vitali Briggs. Briggs sustained horrific injuries to his face, broken cheekbones, orbital bones, nose etc, yet he lasted to the end. Against Lewis he was KOed clean. Marciano might well hit Tua with more shots (I doubt it personally, given the speed, precision and workrate of a prime Tua) but he'd have to fight right in Tua's comfort zone and I really can't see that working out well for him.

Against very good opponents Marciano sometimes had a hard time landing his best shots. Tua showed to be more inefective at landing his good punches against good boxers. Marciano punched boxers into coma's.
If Tua ran 15 miles a day he might well be the same size as Rocky, but his body would be literally eating itself from the inside out and he'd be nowhere near in fit fighting state for his body type. In-shape Tua is naturally around 215-220lb, the man is a walking slab of muscle. Anything below that and he'd be taking away from his advantages of power, speed (yes speed) and resilience.
Sounds like you maybe think Tua is better then Marciano because Marciano ran 15 miles a day during training. I think its better to train to be light then heavy for boxing. You don't need big muscles to generate velocity. How Many top fast ball pitchers in MLB history are bulked up? I think all of them have lean muscles. Plus lean Muscles don't require as much blood so the heart does not have to work as hard to supply the muscles. If a boxer trains to be lean instead of bulked up they should be able to generate more velocity and also not get as tired while throwing their hard shots.
