Ron Lyle vs David Tua

I think he left hooks Ron to death. Lyle was bad man but I think Tua's even against most heavyweight strongmen like Lyle. Tua's got an uncrackable chin and too much power for Lyle, who has been stopped repeatedly.

Tua's chin gets over rated - its top drawer no doubt but not exactly uncrackable. I wont hold any amature ***** against him like the Savon fight but as a pro, Lewis hit him with a few decent right hands and he quit trying, the power was too much and he knew if he engaged he was taking a nap. Hasim Rahman put him on his ass and Monte Barret did the same, Barrett isnt a bad puncher but he's hardly the type ud expect to legitimately drop a guy with an uncrackable chin

His chin is good, its not a weakness of his. But everyone talks about it like its the Hagler of HW boxing and i dont believe it is. His real problem tho is his foot work is painfully slow, he's a real plodder. He's also very unimaginative in there and pretty predictable

Maybe. It was just an example. Guys get knocked down, though, it's what happens when you get punched in the head for a living.

Not having a go at u for saying it just something i hear all the time from NSB that Tua has one of the best chins ever and i dont agree, tho i do rate it real high. One thing he does thats impressive but again takes away slightly from his iron man image is the way he rolls with the shots cleverly to take the steam off of them.

But that trust in ur power while usually a plus, can be a flaw in that u dont get that sense of urgency others do when it would benifit u. I was really excited about Tua coming up and still enjoy him but he's no Tyson, he's just no dynamic enough among other things. Mabey he's just not the fighter I wanted him to be. Tyson.

My opinion has nothing to do with 30 of Tua's opponents failing to complete round 5.

I secretly think that Ron's iron chin will hold against the featherfisted Tua, but I decided to go the other way because I love Lennox.

I think Big Ron can outbox him and keep Tua wary of his power.
The thing with Lyle's chin is that its really, REALLY, weird. Sometimes it holds up very well, but sometimes it gives out. I think the best Ron can keep a good distance with powerful uppercuts on the inside.

Lyle's boxing skills are under-rated. He out-thought & out-punched Ali through ten rounds. If Ali was 1,000 years old, he'd still be more difficult to out-box like that than Tua would be --- & it was a pre-Manila Ali, who had recently bested Foreman.

Is anyone going to say Rahman can out-box & out-smart Tua, but Lyle can't? I don't believe Rahman holds a candle to Lyle.
