ANOTHER DAMN DRAW. This fight is too close to call, really. I originally gave Marquez the credit, but I just rewatched it and scored it again...it's too close. Marquez outboxes Pacquiao, Pacquiao outfights Marquez, they both get cut, they both do real damage...Dammit.

      10. Pacquiao, 10-9
      11. Marquez, 10-9
      12. Marquez, 10-9

6-6, 114-113 Pacquiao, due to the KD.

This is the only scorecard that I have on my laptop for this fight. However, on subsequent viewings I've had it 7-5 for Marquez (unfortunately, don't have them available). Close fight, but I feel like 6-6 is the best I can have it for Pacquiao.

Lederman and Merchant gave Pacquiao the first, too. I was shocked by the CompuBox numbers. It really looked like they landed tit-for-tat the entire round, at least to me.

The card that I posted was originally in a thread by Dynamite Kid, where we scored close or controversial fights, so I had a breakdown as to why I scored each round the way I did.The first was close though. Never understood how Lederman gave Pacquiao the 12th though.

I don't care for Compubox at all. I think it's nothing more than a punch tracker, it doesn't really tell you the effectiveness of a punch and more. Hell, I remember the controversy over this fight being that JMM landed more.....he did, but I think like 14 or 15 punches more, over the course of a 12 round fight.....and it's a bad decision because of it?

Well, the 10th was the round where Pacquiao almost had Marquez on his ass with a big left hand. He beat Marquez up pretty bad that round, actually. But he gave him the 12th, which was absurd. Then again, Lederman always favors the guy going forward, throwing more shots, even if they're not landing. And yeah, landing 15 more punches in a 12 round fight means pretty much nothing. It's like the difference between somebody hitting .290 and .285 for a week. There's a difference, but you have to watch over a way longer stretch to get any statistically measurable data at that rate. CompuBox has its uses, but it's certainly not the be-all-end-all.

Now that I'm reading this, I meant to say the 12th round. No idea why I said the 10th.

This is another close fight, watch this BS, if you have the time.

                  Roberto Duran: 113
                  Iran Barkley: 114
(7-5 Barkley, -1 point for the knockdown). I don't have the round by round because I did it in my head. It's very close, but I think Barkley won that fight.
