No, he was a fringe contender and a top European fighter. I'm not saying that Cooper couldn't fight. What I was pointing out is the tendency of some here to think anything that is older is better. I just think he matches up poorly against Haye.

Like I said, Haye struggles against fighters with a good jab. I think Cooper's jab is underrated and could cause Haye some trouble, as well as Cooper having a mean left hook.

The era makes no difference, I just thought it was an interesting match-up and was hoping that as it's a history section someone could provide more insight into this fight.

Which fights did Haye struggle with good jabs? I'm asking this respectfully knowing that you're in the UK and have likely seen more of his fights than me.

Haye would be too big and too fast. Unless Henry gets a home run left hook in, he gets sliced up and stopped in the mid rounds. Cooper is another small heavyweight from the past who gets overrated here. If you're picking him to win this fight then you must be totally unimpressed by Haye. I mean I can't see Haye losing in his home country to clubfighters like Roger Rischer or Amos Johnson. And that happened between the two Ali fights.
