The first Toney-Nunn fight was on a minor PPV and likely seen by less than 100,000 viewers. Lewis and Bowe were unbeaten HBO sponsored heavyweights with a built in grudge angle, and would have been a major PPV. I have no doubt that both hardcore and casual fans would have preferred to see that match.

Nunn was highly rated before the Toney fight, but Toney was NOT in the P4P top 3 until considerably later. And why wouldn't Lewis/Bowe have been an exciting fight?

Looking back now some 18yrs later no fight in the last 30yrs or more would boxing fans liked to have seen than Lewis vs Bowe back in 1993 but that is because we are aware of how their careers unfolded yet we was not aware back in 93.. when Lewis got KOd by McCall in 94 he was almost completely off the radar and boxing fans was awaiting the release of Mike Tyson who was thought of as the premium heavyweight in the sport.
