Alexis Arguello's name has to be among those of "least hated" fighters. No one ever had a bad word to say about Arguello.

Doesn't feel right saying it because he was such a great, kind man and one of my favourites, but, plenty of people hated him, after all he did fight in the revolution with the Contras, he had the Sandinista and quite a number of his countrymen turned against him, plus he was a political figure, you don't get far in politics without being hated by someone.

Im looking at this from a boxing stand point only. Unlike Ali, Arguello's outside life didn't seem to effect his popularity as a fighter with the fans or amongst other fighters.

Ali has a fair share of haters on boxingscene.

Smelling salts, African poison, nation of Islam....He may actually be the most hated non-active fighter.
